Some of my earliest memories are at my family’s kitchen table, head hovering above a sheet of paper, with a crayon in hand. Colors carefully organized in their neat little box … a few stray ones for easy access. Art is all I know and its the only thing that makes sense to me.

I studied art (undergrad + graduate school) up at the University of Northern Colorado and was very fortunate to be taught by several wonderful professors that encouraged me and nurtured my development as an artist. I also meet a multitude of fellow art students who inspire me to keep creating and exploring my process.

I gravitate towards 2D media (pencil drawings, watercolors, printmaking, oils + acrylics) and really enjoy assemblage sculptures with found wood from my dad’s garage. Doors + doorways found their way into the subject matter of my art for several years. Through them I was able to grow as an artist in my exploration of media and the entirety of my art making process. I am currently working with oil paints and the subjects of storms, shelter + moments of childhood. I can also be found at parks around Denver where I enjoy working en plein air.

I love creating + helping others create.  I’ve been blessed to be able to teach art for the past 7 years and have found it to inspire my own art … growing in ways I could have never imagined.  Nothing is better than having a student hand you a carefully imagined + created image and then saying … “I made this for you.”
