Kathy Knaus is a painter who creates colorful works taken from her life memories.  Her paintings range from representational to abstraction.  The current choice of material for these enticing works is oil and acrylic on canvas.

Kathy exhibits her work in various galleries in the Denver area.  Ocean Journey commissioned her to paint a great white shark eating a whale for a large display in the aquarium (2000). She has served on both the Colorado Council on the Arts and the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities boards.  She served as Chairman of the Art in Public Places Committee at the Colorado Council on the Arts.

In 2000, Kathy graduated summa cum laude with a BFA from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado under the direction of Clark Richert.  She received the prestigious Chuck Mattox Memorial Scholarship, the Colorado State Merit Scholarship and “Best in Painting” in the Fine Arts Department.

Although born in Sidney, Nebraska she considers Colorado her home since moving to the Metro area when she was 8 years old.  She currently lives in Arvada, Colorado.
